Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026. This policy covers the Partisan AI iOS app, Android app, and the browser teaser on this site.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location. We do not use the iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), Google Advertising ID, or any other cross-app tracking identifier. We do not sell personal information and we do not let advertising networks follow you across other companies' apps.
The session hash
The app creates a random sessionHash on your device. It is an opaque string of letters and digits. It is not your Apple ID, Google account, or a government identifier. The app sends that hash with study turns, arena turns, and judged matches so the engine can keep an Elo rating and aggregate statistics without knowing who you are. You can reset it in Settings. Resetting starts a new rating. We cannot reconnect the old hash to you.
If you set a debater handle, that handle is a public label you chose. It is stored next to the session hash. Do not put your real name, email, or phone number in the handle. Handles that include reserved or offensive words are rejected.
What is stored on the server
Cloudflare D1 stores debate telemetry and the leaderboard. A telemetry row records the app source (consumer app, collegiate forensics, or web teaser), the room (study or arena), the persona, the intellect mode, a topic category, a warrant type, and a sentiment pivot such as resisted or conceded. It does not store the text of your messages. A leaderboard row stores the session hash, Elo, wins, losses, draws, average rubric score, best score, optional handle, and the last persona you faced.
Those rows are aggregate persuasion analytics: which personas and topics people practice, and how ranked scores move. They are not a profile of your identity.
What stays on your device
Study threads, arena threads, the disclosure flag, the backend URL, reports you file about a reply, and your local win-loss record stay in on-device storage. Study messages are never copied into the arena thread. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the thread from Settings, removes that local copy. The server never received the message text.
AI providers
When a live model is configured, the engine sends the system prompt and the current conversation to one of Google Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter so it can write the reply or the ballot. Those providers process the text to produce the response. They are not given your name. If no provider key is configured, a local development mock may answer instead, and it does not leave the worker.
Do not type secrets, account numbers, or someone else's private information into the chat. The conversation is sent to the model provider for that turn.
The browser teaser
This website stores an optional worker URL, a teaser session hash, and a two-message counter in your browser's local storage. That is so the teaser can remember its limit and, if you choose, call the same worker. The site does not set third-party cookies and does not embed advertising trackers.
Subscriptions
Pro and Pro+ are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. We do not receive your card number. The store may tell the app that a subscription is active. That status stays on the device in this version of the app.
Children
Partisan AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Retention and deletion
Telemetry and leaderboard rows are kept so the board and the aggregate counts stay meaningful. Resetting your session hash stops new rows from attaching to the old one. To ask about a specific hash you still have, write to support@partisan.ai and include the hash. We will delete the leaderboard row for that hash. We cannot find it from your name, because we do not have your name.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that adds a new category of data, we will update the date above and the in-app disclosure.
